Welcome Cam Sammartano!

We want to introduce another of the newest members of the Fisher Creative team:

CAM SAMMARTANO

Vice President of Development and Production

Cam is an unscripted and documentary television executive from New York City by way of the Jersey Shore.

Working in Development, Cam has overseen and worked every aspect of production; from ideation, casting, editing, post-production, production, directing, shooting, and most importantly, the art of the pitch. He may not have gone to school for film, but had some of the best mentors in the business. Not to brag, but he developed and sold his first series before he officially graduated from college.

He has developed unscripted series through good ol’ fashioned research and casting, as well as off-the-grid scouting, and weeks-long investigations. Once he sinks his teeth into a story, he will do whatever it takes to make it happen. Let him tell you the stories about going through trash in the middle of the mountains in order to track someone down.

Some highlights of Cam's work include:

  • Killing Fields (Discovery): A woman's body was dumped in the bayou, and left to decompose for three months. A retired detective comes out of retirement to help solve the case.

  • Raising Tourette's (A&E): Follows five families livings with adolescents with Tourette Syndrome.

  • Rise Again: Tulsa and the Red Summer (National Geographic): One hundred years after the two-day Tulsa Massacre, one of America's most violent racial conflicts, this documentary explores the role of media during these early 20th century events and today's revived call for justice and anti-racism.

  • House of Horrors: Kidnapped (ID): Reenactments of terrifying tales of people who were kidnapped, yet were lucky enough to survive.

  • Cursed: The Bell Witch (A&E): As a direct descendant of the infamous Bell family, a man desperately tries to understand and, if possible, undo the curse to save his own child from being the next in line to be cursed.

Cam has always been creative. With a background in musical theater and music performance and a degree in Music Business, Cam lives and breathes entertainment and the arts, finding inspiration everywhere. He is also a horror encyclopedia and pop-culture aficionado, so you should always feel free to offer horror recommendations or chat about what's currently trending online.

Making unscripted television, on the surface, is getting to be creative every single day. The reality of making television is a never ending cycle of you showing up to the function and some second cousin twice removed pitching you the worst idea you’ve ever heard in your life.
— Cam Sammartano

Cam joined Fisher Creative last month, and we’re super pumped to have him and all of his badass skills, talents, and experience added to the team! Drawn in by the insane (not derogatory) work Fisher Creative has done, Cam is excited to build upon that foundation to expand our slate of original programming and documentaries for cable, broadcast, and streaming buyers. New originals will not only focus on expedition and adventure programming, but also a variety of other genres - lifestyle programming, docuseries, ensembles, and more - still aligned with Fisher Creative's mission and brand.

Please join us in celebrating and welcoming Cam to Fisher Creative!
